Morning recording in Dyrehaven forest, December 14th 2011

This is a recording from Dyrehaven 14th of December 2011, at the same place as I have visited the last times (in the autumn and spring ). Seriously not much on the recording this time… Well that is the everyday life in the forest in this season, a dark and gray Wednesday morning in December. The recording (32 minutes) starts at 8:15, when it is still quite dark.

Generally very quiet in the forest. None of the animals of the forest worry to make any unnecessary noises or calls. A crowd of maybe 50 deers were passing by, about 100 meters away. Just quietly, like all with a distinct expression-less face. They know that winter has not started yet, and there are many months before spring starts, so it is just time to be patient. It has been very stormy and rainy the last days. It will most likely get much colder soon.

The leaf-free tree tops give a slight hiss and forest is now very open. The morning rush hour at the motorway a few kilometers away cuts across very easily.

the recording was made using standard dummy head setup, with Omni QCT40 microphones and fimo1 0.5mm horn shapes. Wind protection as seen on the pictures, worked ok, depite relatively steady winds.
